Services Provided

We work with a wide range of emotional and behavioral issues providing services that span from therapy for depression and grief counseling to parenting support, couples counseling and beyond.  In a comfortable and supportive atmosphere, we offer a highly-personalized approach tailored to each client's individual needs to help attain the personal growth they’re striving for.

We provide these types of virtual services:
Individual Therapy: One-on-one counseling services are offered to help people address concerns in several areas. These areas can include, but are not limited to, depression, anxiety, suicidal thoughts, anger issues, aging, death and dying, sexual assault, disordered eating, interpersonal relationship concerns, substance abuse, stress management and academic concerns. The following issues are frequently treated by our consultants:

Multi-Cultural Issues— We have issues in the world today around respecting each other’s expression of all our different, racial, sexual, religious, and gender identities.  Because of the stress we experience, we could often benefit from supportive and affirming mental health work.
Stress/Anxiety — Stress and anxiety are commonly experienced by everyone. However, at high levels, they can start to produce adverse physical effects and lead to life-threatening depression.
Depression — When left untreated, depression can worsen and eventually become life-threatening. If you or anyone you know is having thoughts of self-harm or suicide, immediately call the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1-800-273-8255 .
Grieving/Coping with loss — Losing a loved one can be extremely difficult, especially when trying to cope alone. Our grief counselors are trained to help you through the coping process, no matter how you are expressing your grief.
Relationship challenges — Poor communication, relational differences and problems with intimacy between partners can lead to several behavioral health issues such as stress, anxiety or depression. Our professional therapists address these relationship issues on both the individual level, or through couples therapy.
Work issues — A significant amount of time is spent at work. When the working environment is emotionally unhealthy, problems can start to extend beyond the workplace and into one’s personal life.
Academic problems — Children, adolescents and young adults with learning disabilities often struggle emotionally in an academic environment. Individual treatment can re-mediate stress experienced at school, and improve the learning process for patients.
LGBT Issues —People often need additional support dealing with the coming out process or the issues that may arise from bi-sexual and homosexual relationships or the way individuals express their gender identity.

Couples/Family Therapy: Couples counseling services are available to relationship partners. Unlike individual counseling, only one person in the relationship needs to be enrolled to receive these services. Couples counseling is designed to assist couples with their relationship problems. It can be used to gain insight into the problems in the relationship, to learn new and more effective ways of communication, and to learn how to solve problems. Couples counseling will give you the opportunity to examine and improve your relationship with your partner in a safe environment. Additionally, family groups deal with life circumstances effectively and sometime ineffectively.  Many factors come into play with family norms and cultural behaviors.  Although, if your family could benefit with healthier coping and communication strategies, please consider family therapy work.

Family Conflicts — It is common for family members to have disagreements. But, these conflicts can reach a level that is detrimental to the health of individual family members, occasionally becoming physically violent in nature. Our professionals help to improve family relations by encouraging open communication to mediate conflict.
Child/Adolescent Behavioral Difficulties — When a child or young adult has trouble in social situations with their peers, it is possible that they are dealing with a diagnosable behavioral disorder. The staff here at Advocate assesses and identifies these disorders, such as ADHD , and works to help patients alleviate their behavioral problems.

Group Counseling: Group counseling is provided for specific mental health concerns, diagnoses, and self-help experiences. Participants in groups benefit from mutual support and learning that occurs from interactions with others with similar concerns. We have offered a variety of groups in the past on body image and disordered eating, anxiety, transgender issues, and social skills. The types of groups offered will change, depending on our client's needs.  So, contact us directly to inquire further.

Military Program - Our services include the following:

No cost: Get up to 12-24 sessions completely free.
Inclusivity: We’re here to help you no matter what era you or your family served our country during and regardless of discharge status.
We are committed to providing mental health services for our heroes— including active-duty service members, members of the National Guard or Reserves, veterans, and military family members - allowing the service member to define who their family is. Referrals include individual, couples, family, and child.

EAP Program: We have a collaboration, with Employee Assistance Professionals, to provide brief intervention EAP counseling—those practices that aim to investigate a potential problem and motivate an individual to begin to do something about their mental health challenge or substance abuse, either by natural, client-directed means or by seeking additional treatment. In addition, brief treatment—a systematic, focused process that relies on assessment, client engagement, and rapid implementation of change strategies will be provided in a culturally affirming manner.
